Composition and consistency of sunflower honey Flower honey consists of the sweet juices of sunflower flowers. This means the pollen and the nectar, which the bees enrich with the secretions of their glands. The secretions mainly contain enzymes that help to break down sugars. Water makes up about one-sixth (14-19 %) of the honey content. You will not find any added stabilisers, sugar syrups or other diluents in our honey. Production of sunflower blossom honey We bottle and paste our sunflower flower honey on our family farm, Domovina Apiculture. The bees fly from the hives of our apiary near Cologne to the fields where the sunflowers bloom every year at the end of June. The whole process is actually simple: traditional practices, honest craftsmanship and good old-fashioned handwork. No chemicals or substitutes, that's our sunflower honey.
