Sublimation

Sublimation is an indirect digital printing technique that is classified as a transfer technology. This revolutionary technology gets full color printing even on promotional items that other technologies fall short on. But it brings a number of new limitations. Printing can only be done on 100% polyester or a polyester layer ideally white in color, this ensures maximum retention of the printed color shades. Sublimation is most commonly used for printing textiles (t-shirts, sports jerseys, scarves..), lanyards, mouse pads and mugs. This special method directly dyes textile fibres (does not print on their surface). The advantage is high durability and permanence.

Production
The digital plotter first prints the motif on special transfer paper, which is then applied to the textile or object to be printed. The press then transfers the ink from the paper to the printed polyester surface of the promotional textile or object by pressure and temperature. The color is transferred deep into the material, is not detectable by touch and the print is highly scratch resistant.
